DirecTank Environmental Products (“DirecTank,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at www.directank.com (the “Site”), how we use and disclose that information, and the choices available to you.

DirecTank designs, manufactures and supplies aboveground storage tank (AST) products and related consulting services to businesses in the water, wastewater, petrochemical and industrial sectors. Our Site is intended for business and professional use. We do not sell products directly to consumers through the Site, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals for personal, family or household purposes.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

  • Affiliates and international offices. We may share information within the DirecTank group, including with our international offices, so that a colleague in the appropriate region can respond to your enquiry.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files placed on your device that allow the Site to recognize your browser and remember certain information.

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Site to function, including security and load balancing. These cannot be disabled through our Site.

5.1 Do Not Track

There is currently no industry-accepted standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Our Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time. We will update this Policy if that changes.

6. Third-Party Websites and Social Media

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including our LinkedIn page and the LinkedIn profiles of members of our team. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third parties.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including to respond to your enquiry, maintain our business relationship, and satisfy legal, accounting, tax, warranty and regulatory recordkeeping obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it in accordance with our internal retention schedule.

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. These measures include access controls, encryption of data in transit, and staff training. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and any transmission of information to us is at your own risk.

  • Marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting us at info@directank.com. We will continue to send you communications relating to an active enquiry, quotation or order.
  • Access and correction. You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details in Section 13.
  • Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings as described in Section 5.

10. Notice to California Residents

This section applies to residents of California and supplements the information above. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”). Terms used in this section have the meanings given to them in the CCPA.

In the twelve months preceding the effective date of this Policy, DirecTank has collected the following categories of personal information from Site visitors:

We do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined by the CCPA, and we do not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those disclosed in this Policy.

10.2 Sources and purposes

We collect the categories above directly from you, automatically from your device as you browse the Site, and from the third-party sources described in Section 2.3. We use them for the business purposes set out in Section 3.

10.3 No sale or sharing of personal information

DirecTank does not sell personal information, and has not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.

10.4 Your California privacy rights

Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to:

  • Know. Request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
  • Delete. Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you.
  • Correct. Request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Opt out. Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. As noted above, DirecTank does not sell or share personal information.
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information. As noted above, DirecTank does not collect sensitive personal information.
  • Non-discrimination. Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.

10.5 How to exercise your rights

We will verify your identity before responding, which may require you to provide information that matches information we already hold. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent’s authority and separately verify your identity.

We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframes required by the CCPA, generally within 45 days, with the possibility of a 45-day extension where reasonably necessary. There is no charge for making a request unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

10.6 California “Shine the Light”

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about the disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. DirecTank does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Site is directed to businesses and professionals and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@directank.com.

12. Visitors Outside the United States

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored in and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
